Trip to The Sill
10/09/24
Learning at AutismAble is not just about the classroom; we actively seek ways to support our members to participate fully in society. Our recent residential trip to The Sill at Hadrian’s Wall is a perfect example of this. Thanks to a kind invitation from the Youth Hostel Association, a group of us spent two unforgettable nights at this beautiful spot, making memories that will certainly last a lifetime.
The Sill provides an abundance of opportunities for our members, featuring a free interactive exhibition focused the landscape, where can view short documentaries about the environment and ways to protect it. There is also a fully accessible rooftop walk adorned with various flowers and shrubs. Additionally, they promote wildlife habitats and have water bottle filling stations to minimize plastic use. Overall, our visit to The Sill Youth Hostel was an incredible experience.
